From the Field

November 12: Scouting Germany: A WINGS Birds and Art Tour

Rick Wright reports:

if only there were a group to share it with! I've never had views of Alpine
Accentors and Rock Ptarmigans the way we did this time in the Alps, and it's
been great to see Red Kites and White-tailed Eagles again. The
uncharacteristically wonderful fall weather has made it hard to come in from
the field some days, but we've hit some fantastic museums, including the
Chocolate Museum in Cologne (no need for supper that night!). Great hotels,
the usual overwhelming breakfasts, and lots of birds: this is my idea of
fun.
